Vote by Mail

To avoid lines, you can vote by mail.  

You may vote early by-mail if you are registered to vote and meet one of the following criteria:

  • You are age 65 or older by Election Day;
  • You will be outside of Harris County for all of the Early Voting period and on Election Day;
  • You are confined in jail but otherwise eligible to vote, or Involuntary Civil Commitment or;
  • You have a disability or are confined for childbirth. Under Texas law, you qualify for a ballot by mail if you have a sickness or physical condition that prevents you from appearing at the polling place on election day without a likelihood of needing personal assistance or of injuring your health OR if you are expecting to give birth within three weeks before or after Election Day.
